Gas leaks and smoke are dangerous precisely because they go unnoticed, especially when nobody is home. Most detectors only make noise locally and never tell the owner.
Solution
We built an ESP32-based node that reads gas and smoke sensors, triggers a local buzzer alarm, and publishes readings and alerts over MQTT. A Flutter mobile app receives them in real time, so the owner is notified wherever they are.
Outcome
A working prototype that detects gas and smoke, sounds a local alarm, and pushes real-time alerts to a mobile app.
